SOC: 53-3031 Driver/Sales Workers
Drive truck or other vehicle over established routes or within an established territory and sell goods, such as food products, including restaurant take-out items, or pick up and deliver items, such as laundry. May also take orders and collect payments. Include newspaper delivery drivers. Exclude "Truck Drivers, Light or Delivery Services" (53-3033) and "Coin, Vending, and Amusement Machine Servicers and Repairers" (49-9091).

Education: These occupations usually require a high school diploma.
OJT: Employees in these occupations need anywhere from a few months to one year of working with experienced employees. A recognized apprenticeship program may be associated with these occupations.
Tasks: Collect money from customers, make change, and record transactions on customer receipts. Drive trucks to deliver such items as food, medical supplies, or newspapers. Write customer orders and sales contracts according to company guidelines. Inform regular customers of new products or services and price changes. Listen to and resolve customers' complaints regarding products or services.
License: License not required.
