SOC: 41-3031 Securities, Commodities, and Financial Services Sales Agents
Buy and sell securities in investment and trading firms, or call upon businesses and individuals to sell financial services. Provide financial services, such as loan, tax, and securities counseling. May advise securities customers about such things as stocks, bonds, and market conditions.

Education: Most of these occupations require a four-year bachelor's degree, but some do not.
OJT: Employees in these occupations usually need several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training.
Tasks: Keep accurate records of transactions. Complete sales order tickets and submit for processing of client-requested transactions. Interview clients to determine clients' assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, or financial objectives. Discuss financial options with clients and keep them informed about transactions. Develop financial plans, based on analysis of clients' financial status.
License: License not required.
